Business and financial journalists from across Africa are invited to submit entries for the 12th edition of the Pan African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards, the continent’s longest-running awards programme dedicated to recognising excellence in re/insurance journalism.

Sponsored by Continental Reinsurance, the Awards celebrate outstanding reporting that enhances public understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industries, and their contribution to economic resilience, financial inclusion, and sustainable development across Africa.

The Awards continue to attract growing participation from across the continent. In the 11th edition, more than 180 entries were received, reflecting the programme’s expanding reach and impact.

The Awards are open to journalists from English, French, and Arabic-speaking African countries. Entries can be submitted up to 31st January 2027 through the official awards webpage.

Lawrence Nazare, group chief executive officer of Continental Reinsurance, said “The Pan African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards continue to provide an important platform for recognising journalists who bring insurance and reinsurance issues closer to businesses, policymakers and the public. We encourage journalists from across the continent to submit compelling stories that demonstrate the critical role of insurance in supporting economic growth, managing risk and building resilience.”
